Roger Allen Park, age 53, of Baytown, Texas passed away on Thursday April 30, 2020. Roger was born October 18, 1966 in Tampa, Florida to Marvis "Marty" Ann Fullerton Park Ring (deceased) and Warren Spencer Park.
Roger is survived by his father, Warren Spencer Park of Dunedin, FL; son, Kelton Allen Park of Baytown, TX; son, Spenser Garrett Park and wife Haley Mechelle Park of Denver, CO; step-son, Sean Christopher Starling of Houston, TX; step-daughter, Ashlyn Marie Bonner of Houston, TX; brother, Wayne Spencer Park of Oklahoma City, OK; brother, Bryan David Park of Washington D.C.; grandchild, Kason Allen Park of Baytown, TX , grandchildren, Allie Elaine Rose Park, Audrey Evette Park, Alilah Love Park and Garrette Marie Park of Denver, CO.; grandchildren, Jericho Darwin Nundini and Westyn Roy Newberry-Starling of Houston, TX.
Roger served as an Infantry Sargent in the United States Army. He was deployed to Korea where he was responsible for TOW Anti-Tank gun and crew as a section leader. During his time in Korea he attended a leadership development school. Roger was a Master Peace Officer who served as a Lieutenant in the Jail Division of the Baytown Police Department. In 1994 he began his professional career in public service by volunteering for the Cypress Fire Department. He attended the Baytown Police Academy and became a Patrol Officer for the City of Baytown, Texas in 1995. Roger went on to serve in multiple positions for the Baytown Police Department such as Deputized US Marshal for the Violent Offenders Task Force, School Resource Officer, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. He attended numerous investigation courses throughout his career and never stopped learning. In 2008 Roger received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Midwestern University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In 2019 Roger received a Master’s Degree in Security Management. His dedication to public service remained evident as he participated in numerous community service and charitable causes for the city of Baytown.
He was an entrepreneur and partner with Cork Grinders in Baytown, 3rd generation wine maker, avid reader, movie buff, live music fan, loyal friend, incredible father and mentor, and world-class grandpa. He was a member of DD12 Group, and enjoyed traveling, camping, hiking and mountain climbing, genealogy, gardening and watching his grandson play baseball.
A memorial service for Roger will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Ross S. Sterling High School Auditorium, 300 W. Baker Road, Baytown, Texas 77520.
