PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING
THE LORD’S PRAYER (Unison)
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
And the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
INTERNMENT OF ASHES AND LAYING OF FLOWERS
*HYMN God be with you Till We Meet Again
*PRAYER OF COMMENDATION (Unison)
Into your hands, O merciful Saviour,
We commend your servant, Minna.
Acknowledge, we humbly pray,
A sheep of your own fold,
A lamb of your own flock
And a daughter of your own redeeming.
Receive her into the arms of your mercy,
Into the blessed rest of everlasting peace,
And into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

BLESSED ASSURANCE JESUS IS MINE
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
Refrain
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Refrain
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Saviour am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
Refrain

GOD BE WITH YOU TILL WE MEET AGAIN
God be with you till we meet again;
loving counsels guide, uphold you,
with a shepherd’s care enfold you:
God be with you till we meet again.
God be with you till we meet again;
unseen wings protecting, hide you,
daily manna still provide you:
God be with you till we meet again.
God be with you till we meet again;
when life’s perils thick confound you,
put unfailing arms around you:
God be with you till we meet again.
God be with you till we meet again;
keep love’s banner floating o’er you,
smite death’s threatening wave before you:
God be with you till we meet again.

Minna was the second daughter of Samuel and Sarah Chan. She was born in India of Chinese parents.
Minna has three sisters - Eleanor and Enid who live in Toronto, Grace who is in Singapore and a younger brother Peter who lives in the UK.
Minna attended a Chinese school in Calcutta before joining the Calcutta Girls High School from where she obtained her Cambridge Overseas School Certificate. She then studied at Calcutta University for her Intermediate Science qualification.
In 1957 she went to the UK to train as a Nurse at the Kingston General Hospital in Surrey. After qualifying as a State Registered Nurse in the UK she worked at a number of hospitals in London and Surrey specialising in Theatre Nursing.
Minna emigrated to Canada in 1964 and worked as a specialist Operation Theatre nurse in various Toronto hospitals. While working full time she obtained her BSc. in Nursing from Ontario University and was Nurse Tutor in Oshawa for a number of years. Her last post was at St. Michaels Hospital before she retired.
Minna lived in Toronto for 56 years and had many interests - and her favourite pastimes were classical music and painting. She enjoyed and attended concerts regularly in Toronto and was a very good painter, specializing in water colours and oil. She was always eager to learn new things. She had an alert mind and after retirement she learnt and acquired good computer skills. She spent a lot of time in the North York Library as she was an avid reader and had a very enquiring mind.
A very self reliant person, she lived on her own but had two of her sisters and some second cousins in Toronto to call on when needed.
She spent her last three years at the Seniors’ Health Centre where she was well cared for by the very wonderful staff.
