Ruth M. Leyendecker, age 94, passed into the arms of the Lord Sunday, June 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Leyendecker and daughter, Rosalyn F. Mulder. She is survived and missed by her children Michele (Ken) Dorland, Gary (Sherry) Leyendecker and son-in-law, Merle Mulder. Ruth is also survived by her sisters Millie Knight and Helen Helmholdt, along with many nieces and nephews. She was adored by her grandchildren Jonathan Mulder, Laura Boogaard, Caralyn Klott, Rachel Rachoy, Keith Leyendecker, Seth Leyendecker, Sarah Tatara, and Kristin DeMoss. She thanked the Lord for 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mom dearly loved her husband, Wayne, and was his full partner in life, business, and family.
Ruth and Wayne came to faith in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and Lord at age 35. She was a wonderful example to their posterity of mutual loyalty and abiding love. Ruth lived life to the full in faith toward the Lord Jesus and was a wonderful combination of elegant lady and tomboy. She loved her garden tractor, bowling, drafting construction projects, hunting, water skiing, and a host of craft projects. She was a constant source of love for her family, her friends, and for anyone in whom she saw a need for a kind word, some practical help, or a friendly hug. She was a member of Rush Creek Bible Church (formerly Berean Bible Church) since 1967. She was a key part of the "love pulse" of the church and will be very much missed there.
Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Rush Creek Bible Church, 2334 76th St. SW, Byron Center, with Rev. Gary Leyendecker and Rev. Cameron Townley officiating.
