    Anthony Massaroni has been active in funeral service for over 35 years, beginning as a young livery driver, moving on to apprentice, embalmer for the past 29 years as a funeral director at Levine Chapels. In his years at Levine, while caring for the families the Chapel is privileged to serve has been his first priority, he has also been very active in the upkeep of the physical building, its vehicles and a coach to junior staff and seasoned staff members of the Levine Team

    General Manager

    Gary graduated in 1986 from New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences (now Mt. lda College) in Boston, Massachusetts, and has worked in various sectors of funeral service for the last three decades. He has been in funeral home management since 1997 and considers it an honor and privilege to help families in their greatest hour of need. Gary and his wife have been happily married since the early 1980s, recently celebrating 35 years of marriage, and have three children and four grandchildren.

  • Julie Ellen Berger

    Funeral Director

    Julie has been a funeral director with Levine Chapels since 2008 and is both honored and privileged to assist families and friends with funeral arrangements for their loved one. Prior to becoming a funeral director, she worked at Temple Emanuel in Newton. A life-long member of Temple Aliyah in Needham, Julie has always been involved in the Jewish community through both work and volunteer opportunities.

  • David R. Decter

    Funeral Director

    Since 1990, David Decter has continued his service to the greater Boston Jewish community at Levine Chapels in Brookline. During these years, he has helped families through their loss as well as pre-arrangements for loved ones. He has also taught Jewish burial practices to classes of adults and young adults as part of Jewish life cycle events. David and his wife Carole have been married for 49 years. They are parents of two sons and their wives and have been blessed with five grandchildren as well. Recent residents of Brookline, they had lived in Newton for over 40 years. Members of Temple Emeth in Chestnut Hill for over four decades, David is a former Ritual Committee Chair and past President. He and Carole are members of Congregation Kehillath Israel in Brookline as well. They have been honored with the State of Israel Bonds Unity Award. David had also been a recipient of the Community Service Award from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York for his years of service to he Temple and as a dedicated member of the community.

    Mark has been honored to serve families in the Jewish community since 1987. Mark resides in Bridgewater with his wife and 3 children. Mark enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering in the community.

    Robert Schofield has been a licensed funeral director for 47 years and have served the Jewish community for over 40 years. He has lived in Wayland, MA for most of his life. He has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
