Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary accommodates families of all beliefs and cultures. Our funeral home’s 2 non-denominational chapels have hosted Buddhist, Hindu, Samoan and Catholic services and ceremonies, as well as many others.

Because no 2 lives are the same, we believe final services should reflect each person’s unique beauty. We strive to help families create one-of-a-kind memorial services that capture the essence of their loved ones. From something as simple as a fish fry for a grandfather to an Elvis-themed memorial with an Elvis impersonator for an aunt, we take the time to find out what mattered to a person and design an unforgettable memorial.

Funeral home chapels

Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary has 2 chapels. Our funeral home’s Abbey Chapel seats approximately 27 guests and includes a small outdoor reception area, making it ideal for more intimate services. Our Mission Hills Chapel offers pew seating for 200 and has a sizable indoor reception area nearby.

On-site crematory

A private on-site crematory gives Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary complete control of a cremation, start to finish, and means your loved one never leaves our care. If you are unsure about cremation, a team member can explain the process to you. We can perform a cremation following a funeral service, preceding a funeral service or without a service at all. Our crematorium has a viewing room for for families who desire a witness cremation. If you wish, cremated remains can be placed at Cedar Lawn Cemetery or another of your choosing.

Cedar Lawn Cemetery

Covering approximately 13 acres, Cedar Lawn Cemetery is a park-like, tranquil final resting place and a place to remember the life of a loved one. With a waterfall, mature trees and stone monuments, our serene cemetery provides many places for reflection.

Burial options

Cedar Lawn Cemetery offers a range of in-ground burial, above-ground entombment and cremation options, including a community mausoleum with single and double crypts, as well as cremation niches. We offer built-to-suit private mausoleums along with gated family burial estates. The cemetery property also has a cremation garden and an ossuary for cremated remains.

Community events

At Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary and Cedar Lawn Cemetery, we are passionate about staying connected to the Milpitas-Fremont community and the many families we have assisted. Each year, we host Memorial Day services to honor our veterans, as well as All Souls’ Day services. In addition, our candlelight service in December is an opportunity for families to remember their loved ones with words of comfort, music, tree decorating, light refreshments and fellowship with our team and other friends from the area.

We honor veterans

At Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary and Cedar Lawn Cemetery, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Four Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, we are honored to serve our nation’s heroes and take this responsibility seriously. We have taken steps to ensure our staff is knowledgeable of all the benefits available to military veterans and their families.

In addition, we host community events annually in honor of our veterans and work closely with local veterans organizations. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran’s memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary and Cedar Lawn Cemetery participate in the Homeless Veterans Burial Program (HVBP). Founded on the belief that every veteran deserves a dignified and honorable memorial, the HVBP is a cooperative effort with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners and coroners, veterans advocates and veterans organizations. Through the program, homeless and indigent veterans are identified and provided with proper military burials.

History

Cedar Lawn Cemetery was established in the Milpitas-Fremont area in 1967. In 1982, Don Lima Sr. developed the Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary on the cemetery property.

In 1988, Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary and Cedar Lawn Cemetery joined the Dignity Memorial® network, the largest network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers in North America.
