It’s a natural continuation of Harold Seltzer’s long-standing tradition of giving families in the area a place to come together and make memories. Where tables once held juicy steaks and onion roses, they’ll now hold cherished photos, keepsakes and sympathy flowers.

Contemporary styling, open spaces and fully customizable layouts allow the venue to reflect your vision beautifully. We partner with top local caterers to offer exceptional food and beverage options, along with specialty linens, decor and event rentals to elevate your gathering.

At Traditions on Tyrone, we believe every service should be as unique as the life lived. We work closely with your family to capture the essence of your loved one and create a meaningful experience that brings people together in remembrance. Perhaps it’s a lively barbecue for the neighborhood pit master or a sun-and-sand-themed tribute for a beloved beachcomber—no matter your wishes, we work to ensure your needs and budget are met—and we back that with our 100% Service Guarantee.

Our history

Families in St. Petersburg knew Harold Seltzer’s Steakhouse for sizzling steaks and succulent prime rib. For 30 years, it was a go-to spot for celebratory dinners, date nights and family gatherings. With old-school steakhouse charm, the restaurant was beloved for its classic appeal. Its welcoming staff, rich wood paneling, cozy booths and moody lighting made everyone feel like a VIP.

Loyal fans of Harold Seltzer’s Steakhouse raved about the attention to detail—steaks aged for more than 35 days, a free bottle of wine to toast birthdays and anniversaries and a dessert list that demanded a seat at the table. The garlic ranch salad dressing was the stuff of local legend.

But Harold’s wasn’t just a steakhouse. It was a community treasure. Whether it was the perfectly aged ribeye or the decadent Napoleon dessert, Harold Seltzer’s food and ambiance made ordinary nights feel extraordinary and turned special occasions into core memories. For decades, milestones were toasted, happy birthdays were sung and forks were pointed at plates with the proclamation, “You’ve got to try this!”

But even legends evolve, and in late 2024, Harold retired and sold the property. The building was remodeled and reopened as Traditions on Tyrone.
