Kemp joined the Whitten staff in 2016. He was raised in Southside Virginia which is where he first became interested in funeral service having worked part time for the local funeral home while in high school. “I really developed a deep appreciation for the care and professionalism that was offered to our families during one of the most difficult times of their lives”. Having been a licensed funeral director for over 30 years now, it still makes me feel proud when I am able to help a family make funeral arrangements either at the time of a death or in advance, through pre-arrangements. He is active in professional associations and is past president of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association. During his almost 40 years in the profession he has also volunteered on various rescue squads and fire departments as well as having been a member of the Ruritan, Rotary and Lions clubs. Kemp and his wife Kaye live in Lynchburg and when not working, they both enjoy RVing and spending time family.
Paul C Whitten
For over 3 decades, Paul Whitten has been honored to serve families in the greater Lynchburg area through the funeral home that bears his name. Paul is a 3rd generation funeral director and from a very young age knew he wanted to follow his grandfather and firm founder, W.C. "Red" Whitten. He is a certified cremation arranger, a member of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association and past president of the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers. He is living his childhood dream of being a funeral director. Paul and his wife, Marnie, are members of Thomas Road Baptist Church. They enjoy traveling and RVing with their children.
Jason James Davidson
Jason J. Davidson, Sr. has been a funeral director on staff for seven years. He received his Associate’s degree in Funeral Service from John Tyler Community College in Chester, VA. Jason also has a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Cairn University in Langhorne, PA. Jason is the husband to his lovely wife, Jennifer and is father to three wonderful boys: Jason Jr., Josiah and Jeremy. He is an active member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church in Rustburg, VA. Some of Jason’s hobbies include: listening to music, watching sports and just “hanging out” with his family. Jason not only enjoys meeting new people, but finds it rewarding in assisting families make difficult decisions during their time of loss. Jason feels that is very important to not only take the time to listen to each family, but to also be attentive to each of their needs. The funeral service industry has drastically changed throughout the years, and it is my personal duty to not only be flexible but to also serve each family with dignity and respect. Whitten Funeral Home is like family to me, and I will always be honored to serve your family.
Garry S Evans
After thirty years as a loyal member of the Whitten Funeral Home staff, ask Garry what still motivates him and he will tell you it is his desire to serve every family with dignity and respect and to exceed their expectations, each and every time. Born and raised in Lynchburg, Garry and his wife Cathy now reside in Madison Heights and whenever they can, love to travel and camp. They are blessed with two wonderful children, Sommer and Michael.
Gina Michelle Jackson
Gina Jackson has been a funeral director at Whitten Funeral Home since September 2013. She graduated from John Tyler Community College in 2005 with a degree in funeral service. Gina has been licensed since 2007 and served families in the Alleghany and Roanoke areas before relocating to Lynchburg. Gina believes that total customer satisfaction is a number one priority. In her spare time Gina sings in the choir at her church, where she is an active member, and enjoys being with her husband and three children.
