Danielle Odell was raised in Whitney Point, New York. After graduating from Whitney Point High School, she attended Broome Community College-Binghamton for liberal arts and then transferred to SUNY Canton, where she received her associate degree in mortuary science. Danielle began working at Bookhout Funeral Home as a resident in 1994. Following completion of her residency, she remained on staff at the funeral home as a licensed funeral director/embalmer. In December 2011, she became the location manager, and in April 2015, Danielle became the location manager at the Lester R. Grummons Funeral Home. She lives in Oneonta with her husband, Lance, and they have a daughter, Jordan Marie. She is a member of the Oneonta Rotary Club and has been a board member. In her spare time, Danielle enjoys spending time with Jordan, snowmobiling through Quebec in the winter and playing on a women’s softball team in the summer.
Ryan Timothy Walsh
Raised locally, Ryan graduated from Delaware Academy High School in Delhi. Growing up in the food service industry, Ryan’s parents owned and operated the Delhi Diner for many years. Ryan worked for his parents serving customers and cleaning all throughout high school. He was also involved with several community organizations such as The Boy Scouts of America and Sons of the American Legion. He spent summers in the candy striper program assisting the nurses at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton. After high school, Ryan went on to attend SUNY Canton where he graduated with an Associates of Applied Science in Mortuary Science. He then returned home and fulfilled his residency requirements with a local funeral establishment. He was asked to remain at the location and served as the registered manager for 14 years. It was during that time Ryan joined the Delhi Kiwanis Club. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys quilting. A hobby he was taught by his maternal grandmother. He is a nationally known quilter and has had several quilt and project patterns published in books and magazines with titles such as, Simple Quilts & Sewing, Pillow POP, Quilter’s World Magazine, and Quiltmaker. He is a member of the Night Owl Quilting Guild, Hamden and judges quilts annually at the local agricultural fair in Delaware County. Ryan joined the staff of the Lester R. Grummons, Kenneth L. Bennett, and Bookhout Funeral Homes in January of 2015 and is active in the Oneonta Rotary Club. He resides in Franklin and enjoys spending time with his 3 sons.
