About

At Belcrest Memorial Park and Mausoleum, we have upheld our original principles of professionalism and care for the Salem, Oregon, and surrounding Willamette Valley community since 1928. At our cemetery property, we provide a dignified, peaceful park-like setting to honor your loved ones. Our gates are open daily, 7:30am to dusk.

Scenic cemetery grounds

Cemetery ground at Belcrest Memorial ParkOften called the “jewel” of Salem, our beautifully landscaped 70-acre cemetery features a large variety of trees and plants, and wildlife is abundant throughout the park. All seasons bring their special sights, and every month something is in bloom at Belcrest Memorial Park. Even in winter, the strawberry madrones display their flowers.

History

Belcrest Memorial Park and Mausoleum has served the memorial needs of the Salem community since its establishment in 1928 by W.A. Laidlaw as one of the 1st and largest endowment care cemeteries on the West Coast.

Cemetery, mausoleum amenities

Mausoleum at Belcrest Memorial ParkBelcrest Memorial Park is located on gentle green rolling hills, atop a bell-shaped crest overlooking the Willamette Valley in south Salem. Beautiful landscaping, including hundreds of varieties of trees, shrubs and flowers, enhance the natural beauty of the cemetery’s 70 acres.

Belcrest was a tulip farm before the founding of the memorial park. Black-and-white photos of the property at that time are on display in our small museum, as well as records of funerals of many state governors, senators, representatives and other prominent members of the Salem community.

Local legacy of care

Belcrest Memorial Park has served families in Salem for more than 90 years and continue to serve as one of the premier cemetery and mausoleums on the West Coast. Many of our employees have been with us for more than 25 years. Our heritage speaks for itself.
