    Funeral Director

    Heather was born and raised in Craigsville and began her career in funeral service in 1996 with Sensabaugh and Zimmerman Funeral Home. After 11 years of working as a funeral director, she transitioned into the role of pre-need advisor. She joined the staff of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes in 2007.

    Heather's day-to-day responsibilities include assisting families with advanced planning, aftercare visits, creating lasting memorial headstones and community outreach programs.

    Her life outside of work consists of keeping up with her 2 boys, Quintin and Masin. Quintin plays basketball for Stuarts Draft High School. She also has 3 fur babies: Effin, Sadie and Dot. Heather enjoys creating stained glass, interior design and decorating, but what she enjoys most is hanging around a campfire in the evenings and spending time with her children and family.

  • Allison C Spears

    Funeral Director

    Allison C. Spears was born and raised in Elkins, WV until the age of 16 when she moved with her family to the Staunton area. She is a graduate of John Tyler Community College’s Funeral Service Program where she obtained an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences. Following graduation, Allison served her funeral service internship with National Funeral Home in Falls Church, Va and became a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer with the State of Virginia in 2012. After she received her license she moved back home and has been employed with Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes for two years. Allison is currently working towards obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia. In 2015 she married her husband, Derek Spears and they currently reside in Waynesboro. She is a volunteer for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention where she helps survivors of suicide and suicide prevention. Allison says, “When I am not following what I believe to be my calling in life by helping families after the death of a loved one, I greatly enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures and their customs with my husband.”

  • Lindsey Katherine Stone Whitmore

    Funeral Director

    Lindsey was born in Augusta, GA and was raised in North Augusta, SC. She is a 2008 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where she obtained a Bachelor Degree in Mortuary Science. Lindsey joined the staff of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes in 2009 as a Funeral Service Intern. After completing her internship, she became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Virginia in 2010 and was asked to remain on staff full time. She is a member of the Academy of Funeral Service Practitioners and in 2013 earned the highest professional designation you can achieve in the funeral service industry by becoming a Certified Funeral Service Practitioner. She is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary South Carolina Unit 71. Lindsey says, “I enjoy listening to the families I serve tell me their loved one’s life story about who they were and who they impacted. It is both a privilege and an honor to serve those who call upon us in their time of loss.” Lindsey now calls the community of Stuarts Draft her home. She is always on the go and enjoys traveling, hiking, cheering on the University of South Carolina Gamecocks in all sports and spending time with family and friends.

  • Scott E Slaven

    General Manager

    Scott Slaven was born and raised in Ronceverte, a small Greenbrier Valley town in southern West Virginia. He began his career in funeral service at the age of 14, while working for Longanacre Funeral Homes. After graduating from high school, he attended Bridgewater College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in health science/athletic training. He later attended James Madison University, where he earned a master’s in kinesiology/athletic administration/coaching. While working toward that degree, Scott was employed at Kyger Funeral Home in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

    He then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he earned a degree at John A. Gupton Mortuary College and worked at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home and Woodlawn Funeral Home. He returned to the Shenandoah Valley following mortuary school and has been at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes since 2007. He became general manager in 2011.

    Scott has spent much time coaching basketball on several levels, including the Amateur Athletic Union. Outside of work, he enjoys being with his daughter, Taylor, and watching her play volleyball and tennis for Stuarts Draft High School, as well as spending time on the family farm in West Virginia. He is an avid Dallas Cowboys and West Virginia University Mountaineers fan.

  • John K Hite

    Funeral Director

    Kent was born in Staunton, Virginia, and has lived in Augusta County all his life. After high school, he attended Blue Ridge Community College and graduated from the Central Shenandoah Criminal Justice Training Center in 1973. In 1987, he graduated from the Bureau of Forensic Science Academy. Kent served as a full-time deputy sheriff for the Augusta County Sheriff’s Department for 22 years.

    Kent began his funeral service career in 1974 at Etter-Reynolds Funeral Home (now Reynolds Hamrick) as a part-time funeral associate. Later, he earned an associate's degree in funeral service at John Tyler Community College; he became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in 1999.

    On June 3, 1978, Kent married his wife, Bev. They have 2 beautiful daughters and 2 precious granddaughters. Kent attends West Waynesboro Church of Christ, serving on the offering and communion committees. He is also a volunteer bus driver for youth and senior activities. Kent is a member of the Waynesboro Lions Club and the Augusta Health Fitness Center. He enjoys going to baseball games, doing yardwork, spending time with his grandchildren and traveling to the Amish country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
