About

For more than a century, Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta has been the final resting place for pioneers, community leaders, celebrities and those who call Florida’s northern Palm Beach and southern Martin County their home.

A quiet oasis and Tequesta cemetery

Cemetery grounds at Riverside Memorial ParkNestled in a quiet residential neighborhood next to a state park, our picturesque cemetery is a quiet oasis amid the energy and vibrancy of the modern communities around it. Tequesta and Jupiter residents enjoy the beauty of the park and can often be found walking and bicycling through its paths.

In the late 40s, Roy S. Rood planted the majestic oak trees that still canopy the roadways and act as the signature of the park. Our wonderful grounds also so have mature palm trees, pine trees and sculpted shrubbery.

Diverse burial options for you

Mausoleum at Riverside Memorial ParkAs you walk the lush cemetery grounds shaded by large oak trees, pine trees and palms, you will find a wide choice of burial options. The memorial park accommodates in-ground burials in many landscaped gardens that permit a range of monument options, both upright and flat. The most recent garden—Hope—includes hedge estates. Four outdoor mausoleums accommodate both casket burials and cremations. Faith mausoleum opened in 2019; it includes an indoor area with glass-front niches for thoughtful displays. It complements the previously existing mausoleums: Heritage Hall, Liberty Hall and Victory Hall. The latter is designed with an open-air courtyard with bench seating for visitors who want to take time for reflection.

We Honor Veterans

At Riverside Memorial Park, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, the funeral home and cemetery have staff members who are knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans and their families. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran’s memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one. It’s our honor to help military families and veterans plan a funeral or memorial service that celebrates a life of dignified service. Space is available throughout the cemetery for veterans. We’ve held a Memorial Day Remembrance service every year since 1949.

A great network and affiliate funeral home

Riverside Memorial Park is a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. We are affiliated with Aycock Funeral Home, a group of caring funeral professionals who are available to help you plan a funeral or cremation.

History

Cemetery grounds at Riverside Memorial ParkIn January 1907, the Jupiter Cemetery Association purchased 4.5 acres on the north fork of Florida's Loxahatchee River. At the time, the land was located in Dade County. Since the only way to reach the cemetery was the river, the association built a pier so that caskets could be transported to the cemetery by towboat. County Line Road, as we know it today, was then a stretch of sand called Cemetery Road. In 1925, Martin County was created and the road was renamed.

In 1947, Roy S. Rood became the owner of the cemetery. He enlisted members of American Legion Post 271 to place shell rock on the sand paths. He maintained the cemetery in that manner until 1973, when he bought another 30 acres and created what would become Riverside Memorial Park.

In 1997, Roy sold the cemetery, which is now affiliated with Aycock Funeral Home and part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers. Since its inception, Riverside Memorial Park has been a beautiful resting place for people who call Florida’s northern Palm Beach and southern Martin County home.
