Construction of our funeral home began in the summer of 2009, and we opened our doors on January 12, 2010. Our chapel seats up to 250 guests with an additional family seating area; plus the availability of a private stateroom, all equipped with modern music and video technology. Ample parking accommodates up to 100 vehicles, making it easy for family and friends to gather and support one another.
From the moment families arrive, our staff is there to greet them with compassion and care. Our space is intentionally warm and welcoming, with comfortable gathering areas and a selection room offering caskets in a variety of styles and finishes. Every detail of the facility is designed to support meaningful services and reduce stress during difficult moments.
The team is made up of trusted members of the Bastrop community with decades of combined experience. Our approach to service is simple: providing every family we serve with genuine empathy, a listening ear and thoughtful guidance. Whether it's the first conversation or the final farewell, we are here to serve with professionalism, heart and attention to detail that is second to none. We believe every family deserves personalized care and thoughtful guidance during one of life’s most difficult moments.
Cremation Services in Bastrop
Today, an increasing number of families are choosing cremation, drawn by the flexibility it offers and the many meaningful ways remembrance can take shape. In response to this growing preference, Bastrop Providence Funeral Home is honored to offer professional cremation services with compassion and care.
Some families choose a traditional funeral service followed by cremation, finding comfort in familiar rituals. Just as with a burial, this option allows for a visitation, viewing or wake, followed by a funeral service. Once cremation is complete, families may choose from a myriad of memorialization options.
Others prefer a memorial service, which may be held in our chapel, a church or another meaningful venue. Memorial services can be personalized with music, stories, scripture or readings that reflect what matters most. When clergy is not chosen, trained life celebrants can lead the service, helping families create a thoughtful gathering that encourages healing and reflection.
A graveside or committal service may also be included, whether immediately following a funeral or as a smaller, intimate gathering of those closest to the family.
Cremation also offers a wide range of permanent memorialization options. Families may keep an urn at home, place the urn in a columbarium niche, bury the urn in the ground, or scatter the remains in a location that holds special meaning. Many families find comfort in establishing a permanent place of remembrance where loved ones can visit for generations.
These choices are deeply personal, and our experienced team is here to guide families throughout the process. With thoughtful support, cremation becomes not just a decision, but a meaningful tribute to a life well lived.
Celebrations of Life
At Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, we believe the best celebrations of life are those that truly tell the story of a life beyond just the dates. We pride ourselves on ensuring that each celebration is as meaningful and unique as the person it honors. That’s why we sit with you to listen and learn what made them special. From there, we design a service that truly reflects this spirit by incorporating personalized touches. That might mean playing their favorite country song on the piano, encouraging attendees to wear Longhorn colors or organizing a Texas cookoff following the service.
A celebration of life is more than a service. It is a time for family and friends to come together, share memories and find comfort in one another. Whether the event is intimate or expansive, traditional or modern, our goal is always the same: to create a tribute that feels authentic, personal and meaningful.
Our experienced funeral professionals take the time to guide you through every step of the planning process. From selecting meaningful music and readings to incorporating cherished photos, keepsakes, and personal mementos, we help weave together the details that tell your loved one’s unique story. These thoughtful elements create a warm, uplifting atmosphere that invites reflection and remembrance.
We encourage families to reflect on the moments, passions and qualities that defined their loved one and personalize every touchpoint of the service accordingly. Families may choose tribute videos, photo displays, live or recorded music, artwork, poetry, or readings that speak to the passions, talents, and moments that define a life. Each element is thoughtfully arranged to honor memories in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.
If you’re not sure where to begin, our best‑in‑class planning team is ready to guide you with care, creativity and compassion.
Funeral Pre-Planning
Making final arrangements in advance is a thoughtful way to care for the people you love. A few steps for you now can mean lasting peace of mind for your family later. And while you can’t protect them from grief, your actions can help ease the burden they may face during a difficult time.
At Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, we are here to guide you through the pre‑planning process with compassion and clarity. Our experienced funeral professionals take the time to listen, answer your questions and walk you through your options at a comfortable pace. Whether you already know what you want or are just beginning to explore your options, we are with you every step of the way.
Pre‑planning allows you to make informed decisions about the details that matter most, including burial or cremation preferences, service style and personal details that reflect your values and life story. By clearly recording your wishes, you help reduce uncertainty and prevent potential disagreements among loved ones when the time comes.
There are also practical benefits to planning ahead. Advance arrangements may offer greater flexibility in funding options and can help protect your family from having to make tough financial decisions during a time of grief. By addressing these choices now, your loved ones are free to focus on honoring your life rather than coordinating logistics.
Community Involvement
We care deeply for the Bastrop community and the families who call Central Texas home. Being part of this community means showing up with compassion, offering support beyond services and creating opportunities for connection when people need it most.
Our staff stays actively engaged with local families, churches, sports teams and community organizations. One of the most meaningful ways we serve our neighbors is by supporting those who are grieving.
Throughout the year, we participate in community outreach and remembrance efforts, including during the holiday season, when loss can feel especially heavy. At Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, we believe grief does not end after a service. That is why we remain a source of care and encouragement long after families leave our care.
This support extends beyond our walls and is available from the comfort of your home as well. Families can access encouragement and guidance at their own pace through resources such as our grief library and 24-hour Compassion Helpline. Above all, we want you to know you are not on your own.
Burial Services
We are honored to assist families who choose burial as a meaningful way to lay a loved one to rest. While we do not operate our own cemetery, we partner closely with trusted Dignity Memorial cemeteries throughout Bastrop County and the surrounding Central Texas area.
Our team works with families early in the process to help them choose the right cemetery, whether honoring existing family plots, considering proximity for visitation or planning in advance. For families of veterans, we are also proud to assist with military burial honors and benefits, including coordination with national or state veterans cemeteries when applicable.
Once a cemetery has been chosen, we support families with burial selections, including choosing a casket and burial vault. We offer a wide range of options designed to reflect personal tastes, cultural traditions and individual budgets.
From there, our compassionate team ensures that every remaining detail is carefully coordinated. This includes arranging transportation to the cemetery and providing full graveside service coordination, working closely with cemetery staff, clergy, officiants or life celebrants to ensure the service proceeds smoothly.
