Every family’s needs are different, which is why we offer both traditional and contemporary services. Some families choose a witness cremation followed by a funeral in keeping with cultural customs. Others prefer a vibrant celebration of life with music and favorite foods. However you wish to say goodbye, we’ll help you create a service that reflects your loved one’s passions and beliefs.

As a Level One Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, we also specialize in creating meaningful tributes for those who have served our country. From military honors at the graveside to thoughtfully planned veterans memorials, we are committed to honoring service with dignity and respect.

Thoughtfully designed spaces

Memorial Oaks Funeral Home was designed to feel both elegant and welcoming. The all-faith chapel seats up to 250 guests, with timeless architecture, natural light and state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment for slideshows, video tributes or personalized playlists. Four staterooms offer a more intimate setting for smaller services, while our cozy living room and coffee bar provide a relaxed space for reflection.

Families often choose to continue gathering in our reception area, which accommodates up to 100 guests. Whether it’s a casual breakfast buffet or a formal dinner, we’ll arrange catering that reflects your family’s tastes and traditions, so you can spend more time together sharing memories.

A peaceful memorial park

Memorial Oaks Cemetery spans more than 100 acres of rolling lawns, native trees, fountains and carefully tended gardens. Families can choose from a variety of settings, each designed to bring peace and comfort.

• Reflection Lake Estates features the Texas Liberty Mausoleum, the Robert L. Waltrip Memorial Chapel, and a serene lake at its center—creating one of the most beautiful areas of the cemetery.
• Whispering Water Estates blends a graceful waterfall with private family estates.
• Turkey Creek Estates offers hedged and walled estates for privacy and dignity.
• For those who prefer cremation, our botanical garden provides a natural setting for remembrance.

You may also choose to create a private mausoleum or family estate within Lakeside Estates. Built-to-suit sites ensure a lasting legacy while upholding the beauty and harmony of the memorial park for generations to come.

Connected to our community

At Memorial Oaks, we believe in lifting our community up. Each year, we host gatherings that bring people together in reflection and hope.

• In December, our Evening of Music and Remembrance offers families a chance to honor loved ones during the holiday season.
• Each spring, we gather at the eastern cove of Reflection Lake for our Easter Sunrise Service, a moving time of worship and renewal.
• On Memorial Day, our Tribute to Heroes and Freedom honors servicemen and servicewomen with a flyover of vintage Air Force planes, live orchestra music and a keynote speaker.

Beyond these events, we support charitable causes close to our hearts, including the American Diabetes Association, United Way and Donate Life America. By giving back, we hope to strengthen the same community that has entrusted us for generations.

A legacy of care

Since 1955, Memorial Oaks Cemetery has served Houston families as a place of lasting remembrance. The cemetery entrance features a treasured artifact: an 1867 horse-drawn hearse preserved in a glass enclosure, a reminder of our enduring history and traditions.

In the early 1990s, Memorial Oaks Funeral Home was added to the property, bringing modern comforts to the historic grounds. Together, the funeral home and cemetery continue to serve Houston families with the same dedication, compassion and dignity that began more than half a century ago.
