Cremation in Tucson

Signature Dedication at Desert Rose Heather Cremation & BurialThere are many options for cremation in Tucson—and they're not all equal. We specialize in simple cremation services that honor loved ones in personalized ways, and families love our all-inclusive pricing. With expertise in scattering ashes and a friendly team who pays attention to every detail, we provide service that is second to none.

More and more people are choosing cremation over traditional burial, but most aren’t familiar with the many options:

  • a cremation without a funeral or memorial service of any kind.
  • a funeral with your loved one present, followed by cremation.
  • a cremation followed by a scattering, cemetery memorialization or celebration of life—or all three.

History

In 1988, the Heather family opened Heather Mortuary & Chapel on River Road in Tucson, Arizona. Prior to establishing the Tucson location, the family operated another funeral home in Lordsburg, New Mexico. Harber Jack Heather and his son, Jack Heather, opened the Tucson location before relocating to its current address on Columbus Boulevard.

In December 1992, Heather Mortuary & Chapel became a member of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers. In 1995, founder Harber Jack Heather passed away, leaving behind a legacy of compassionate care in the community.

The funeral home merged with Desert Rose Cremation & Burial in April 2013 and is now known as Desert Rose Heather Cremation & Burial. Over the years, our funeral home has evolved with the needs of the community but our commitment to compassionate care and personalized service remains the same.
