Specializing in personalized funerals
We believe an exceptional individual deserves a uniquely fitting tribute. Imagine one last cruise-in for the lifelong hot rodder, with a pre-service car show and a high-horsepower escort for the funeral coach. Envision a one-night-only exhibition of your family shutterbug’s most exceptional photography, with keepsake prints for guests. Our large, handicap-accessible reception space makes it possible to transform our building into a gallery, a showroom or the reunion of a lifetime.
No matter what type of funeral or memorial you choose, we handle the details, from decor to music to food. Our stateroom features a large screen perfect for tribute videos or slideshows, and a spacious lounge features a television for children. Bailey Zechar Funeral Home warmly welcomes celebrants of all traditions to our interfaith chapel.
Not everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and different options. From a direct cremation without a memorial service or a witness cremation to a full funeral service before or after the cremation and more, we help you understand this increasingly common choice—and handle all of the cremation arrangements.

Byron and Myron Zechar founded Zechar Funeral Home in 1941, establishing a provider of funeral services in Greenville, Ohio. In 1960, the Zechar family acquired McKnight & Baker Funeral Home. Byron’s 2 sons, Kent and Gray, continued their family’s tradition of funeral service by taking over operations in 1979.
In 1979, Joe Bailey became owner and operator of the funeral home in Versailles, and 6 years later, Kent, Gray and Joe merged the 2 funeral homes to become Bailey Zechar Funeral Home.
In the mid-1990s, they bought Miller Funeral Home, providing area families with more options for funeral services in Darke County.
Today, Bailey Zechar Funeral Home is a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. Our locally based team offers compassion and hospitality in the Ohio tradition.
