I think of Adelai often and I thought I'd share some thoughts. It was such a pleasure to work with her at the Little Oak Surrey office. She was very diligent about her job and we could always count on her. It was clear that she was wise well beyond her years. I'm still and will always be heartbroken for her husband's and family's loss. A young life with so much promise was stolen from everyone that knew her and that was going to know her. I struggle with that. I hope you all are finding some semblance of peace in this tragic and confusing time. God bless.

It still doesn’t feel real that you’re gone nor will it ever. I was so looking forward to spending more quality time with you and Chad and our future families. Your love will forever be missed. My only hope is your loving down on us with Grandpa Ray and that one day we will meet again.

Adelai walked into the office for an interview,  shy but also very confident in who she was.  Even though she was quiet, those around her knew she was there for them, easy to talk to, easy to approach, she brought her kindness and smile in with her everyday! She will be missed by all of us at  Little Oak Realty!!

Adelai, you are so loved and missed. You put more love into this world than most would in multiple lifetimes. 
Your cousins loved their time with you-on the trampoline, those extremely long bike rides we made all you kids go on, in our back yards, and our holiday get togethers. You always made sure they had fun when you were all together. 
You were such a beautiful person. Always calm and loving with us all, even when time and miles gathered between us. 
You’re with us all in our hearts. I see you in nature, we’ll forever meet on our bike rides, and I’ll see your reflection in every loving and compassionate person I meet.

Chad~ 

All of this is so hard to put into words. I still remember the first message I got from Adelai at work, introducing herself, since I was the newbie. That was my first real glimpse at the kind of person she was - so sweet and kind, so selfless, so focused on caring about other people. We became close so fast. She was like my little sister. I always looked forward to listening to her audio messages, or chatting to her at work. She encouraged me so much in my faith. She had a sassy side that made me laugh - I don't even think she was aware of it. 
I wish we had gotten more time. My heart breaks for you, and for her family. I am praying so hard for you. I am clinging to the real, tangible hope that we have that we will see her again - that she knows you, remembers you, and is cheering you on until the day you see her again.

She had such enthusiasm in her joy of baking. We welcomed her joining our family of many generations of great bakers. We will miss her so very much!

It is with tears and great sadness that I write these words.  I want more time with Adelai!  I feel like we were just starting to get to know her.  Words like gentle and super sweet come to mind.  It didn't take long to realize that she was wise beyond her years and that she loved Jesus with her whole heart.  She also loved you so deeply, Chad, and you could see it in how she supported, encouraged and even just looked at you.

Chad and Adelai have been the best tenants ever.  Both have been quick to help in any way they could.  Adelai  would happily water my plants or pick up our mail whenever asked.  She even reluctantly said yes to being my partner in a backyard badminton game recently...we did okay together!! 

Chad, you will always be more than welcome 'upstairs'.  Our hearts break with yours, our prayers will continue to surround you.  We trust God with you to provide all that you need in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Dear Chad,

I expect no words can truly capture how devastating this has been for you and your family members on both sides. A young life taken too soon is hard to comprehend or accept.  I hope the love and care being sent to you from all corners of your community brings some semblance of peace during this difficult time.

It was such an honour to be able to do the beautiful brides hair on her wedding day! Her smile is contagious and she was such a sweet woman! So sorry for your loss! I’m sure she smiling down from heaven!❤️

Addy, we will always count ourselves blessed that you were part of our family.  Your gentle and kind ways with us will never be forgotten.  Your love of ketchup chips, plum platz and Birchwood  Dairy Fieldberry ice cream  were  only some of the wonderful and unique aspects of you!   You adored animals and always always rooted for the underdog.
 We  promise we will take care of Chad…although your love and care of him could hardly be replicated.  We love you.  We will never forget you.  We can’t wait to meet you again on the other side.  You once told me we were ‘just passing through’.  This earth is not our home.

I’ve prayed for you every waking hour since I heard of you losing the love of your life. I don’t understand why you have been given this journey to suffer and I’m so sorry. 

Your fam became like family to me very quickly back 7 years ago and as Adelai soon came along I considered her like family as well. 

Her auburn hair and freckled porcelain skin was so striking. She faced hardship yet had the most lovely gentle smile. She was so real and easy to talk to and I had no idea you could land such a woman!! (I’m joking, you’re great <3). 

As the Lord has Adelai now with Him, I pray that He would meet you and carry you in your wreckage and be so obviously ever near to you, to yours and Adelai’s families. Go to Him with your anger and agony—He can handle it. 

I will continue to pray for you and your fam and await the day I can give you a big hug.
