Alice was born in Paraguay February 2nd 1987. She was the sixth child to Bernhard and Helena Krahn, followed by another two brothers. Alice grew up loving her big family. Every one of them were dear to her heart. Alice gave her life to Christ in 2004 at the age of 17, and never looked back. Her family was important to her as they were her support during a time of persecution, attributed to the family’s new-found personal and vibrant faith in Christ.
She finished High School in 2006. Soon after that she worked at a local school and also volunteered at an orphanage for a year in 2008 where she met her dear friend Frieda. Even though they were separated by a continent and oceans, they still managed to stay close friends. As with her good friend Frieda, Alice managed to maintain close friendships with others that were also far away. It didn’t matter whether they were close or far, they mattered to Alice.
Alice moved out of town, to be on her own and work as a receptionist. Here she also went to school to become a baker and was she ever a great baker! It was here where she met Garry. Alice and Garry married on March 19th 2011. Alice's dream since an early age was to live in Canada and after a few years in Paraguay, and building their first home together Alice and Garry moved to Canada in 2014. Alice enjoyed working at MCC and was greatly loved by all who knew her there.
After a few years of infertility, Alice and Garry welcomed Owen into the world in 2019. He was their little miracle. Shortly before Owen’s second birthday, they welcomed their second miracle, Jack in 2021. Both sons were a beautiful gift, an answer to prayer and deeply loved by Alice.
Alice enjoyed hiking, going for walks, reading her Bible and caring for her children. She was a great cook and even better homemaker. She was a kind, gentle soul, who loved to help others, loved to host and just be there for people. Alice deeply valued relationships and was a committed friend to many. Alice battled anxiety and depression throughout her life and she learned to rely heavily on God throughout those dark times, and stayed true to her faith. She will be deeply missed by many.
Alice is predeceased by her niece, Letisha Reimer, and is survived by husband, Garry, sons, Owen and Jack. Alice also will be missed by both parents, Bernhard and Helena Krahn, Helmut and Anni Reimer, the Krahn and Reimer siblings and many other family and friends.
