Andrea Joy Paterson

Miss Andrea Joy Paterson, late of Abbotsford, BC Canada. Passed away on January 15, 2024, at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, at the age of 43 years. She was predeceased by her grandparents Frank and Winnifred Chapman and George and Edna Paterson, Cousin Isabella Carreiro, and four uncles. Survived by her parents Paul and Esther Paterson; her siblings, Jonathan Paterson and Teresa (Matt) Guynup; very special nieces and nephews Jakob Paterson, Brooklyn, Marek, and Norah Guynup; as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Andrea had many physical limitations and was confined to a wheelchair, but loved life! She had a great sense of humour, loved to tease, and have fun. Andrea rode horses at Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association for 23 years, and participated in Abbotsford Special Adventures, Circle of Friends, and Friendship Club. Andrea loved to go to church, and her family knew she was not well if she decided to stay home. She was also a faithful Vancouver Canucks fan, and loved the colour orange, pizza, and DQ.

Andrea suffered with Leigh’s Syndrome, a rare degenerative neurological disorder, and was wonderfully cared for by family and many direct support staff throughout her life. Andrea is now released from all physical limitations that she endured and is enjoying her new freedom in Heaven with Jesus.

A private burial service will be held Monday, Jan. 29, 2024.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Road, Abbotsford B.C. Please use the link below to see Andrea's service live streamed;
