Anna Maria Giannini, 69, of Coquitlam, BC, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on April 30, 2026. Born to a family of pioneers on September 10, 1956, in Timmins, Ontario, Anna Maria spent her life loving those she held dear. She was known above all for her generosity and her lifelong friendships. Being so quick to laugh and see humor in things, along with meticulous organizational skills, helped her to be an exceptional host who loved to cook, share, and give of herself. Her fondness for word games, crossword puzzles, music, and the arts kept her mind challenged, entertained, and inspired.
Anna Maria was predeceased by her mother, Sirena Bendo (née Del Villano); her sister Norma (John) Jonescu; her brother Lou (Jean) Bendo; and her sisters Rosa (Gordon) Wheatley, Doreen (Ian) Featherstonhaugh, and Virginia Bendo.
She is survived by her son, Leucio, her sister Sandra, and her brother Peter, in whose hearts her memory will live on eternally. The family expresses many thanks to extended family members and friends for their love and support during this time.
A small gathering will take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Park in the Township of Langley (68 Avenue & 238 Street). A celebration of her life will also be held in Timmins at a time as yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local Hospice Society.
