With deep sorrow and immense love, we, Jade Niki Oldaker and Tyson Cross, share the news of the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara “Lea” Oliver, on February 2, 2025, at 3:33 “Angel Time”. We held her hands until the very end, comforted by the love we shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
Lea was a woman of remarkable strength and independence, with a radiant and unforgettable presence. Her kindness knew no bounds, always thinking of others, and her generosity of spirit left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her. She had a heart full of love for animals, especially her beloved horses and dogs, including her late companion Emma and her dear boy Oliver. She often shared, “That upon her passing, she would be reunited and ride her childhood horse Cheyenne with and ride with freedom and joy once again.”
She was raised in a world of car racing at Langley Speedway. Her passion for both racing and animals were a gift she lovingly passed down to her children. Her love for the sport and her bond with animals remains an enduring part of her legacy.
Her daughter, Jade Niki, is a devoted mother to five wonderful children: Paige, Tryston, Kingston, Kensie and Karson. In August, Jade married Paul Oldaker and Lea was filled with immense joy and pride to be a part of that beautiful day.
Her son, Tyson Cross, along with his partner Mandie Santrau, share a deep love for animals and car racing. These shared passions were a cherished part of his mother’s heart and soul.
Although, not always seeing life through the same lens, she loved her siblings Kim, Harold, George and Heather immensely, which was never more evident than the weeks and days prior to her passing.
Lea faced her battle with cancer with remarkable courage and grace, never letting go of her strength, her love, or her unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and kindness that will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
