Carol Roberta Lewis

19 April , 19455 November , 2018

Carol, who lived her life to the fullest, passed away at the age of 73 on November 5, 2018. She will be loved and very much missed by her husband Roy, son Dave (Rosie), daughter Christine; and grandchildren, Savana, Sophie, Xena, Zyann, Bradley and Skyler; as well as her brothers, Tom, George, Raymond and John; and many friends.

Carol’s career included extensive work in marketing, training and events coordination in the Abbotsford area. She was an instructor for the Superhost program sponsored by the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce. As well, she provided workshops for the government organizations, the Abbotsford School District and many business groups in the community.

Aside from her professional endeavors, Carol was best known for being an outstanding and very recognizable community volunteer. She was an on-air host and producer for community television programming with Western Cable Vision (later Rogers). Carol also coordinated several Miss Abbotsford pageants (1976-1981) and volunteered with the Abbotsford Airshow and Airshow Canada through 1990s to present. She served as director for the Abbotsford Agrifair for seven years and was member of the University College of the Fraser Valley Advisory Council.

During the past years Roy and Carol took many road trips but still enjoyed those simple walks around the parks in our city. Everywhere Carol went there was always someone who knew her and wanted to stop and talk.

Everyone who met Carol was immediately caught up with her infectious laugh and sharp wit. During her life she inspired so many people to become involved in their community – a community she had grown to love.

A Memorial Service for Carol will be held at Henderson’s Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd., Friday, November 16, 2018 at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.

To my grandmother, best friend, and now my guardian angel, there isn’t enough words in the world to describe how much I love and apprchiate everything you and grandpa (Roy) have done for me. you two have tought me so much. I will forever cherish you, and all are memories together. my favourite will forever be us just sitting drinking our Americanos, at McDonald’s while I just listened to all your stories. And you giving me the best advice. I always felt so inspired after We talked. I love you grandma rest easy.❤️👼 -nanny.

For the relatively short time I have known Carol, I have been blessed to have spent the time we did get together. I looked foward to our "lunch" dates with Roy and Carol
in Parker, AZ, which had become an annual occasion.
My sincere condolences to you Roy, David and your families. To my love George Young and brothers John, Tom, Raymond and their families.
You will be missed.

Carol (and of course Roy) has been our friend for 52 years. We will miss her joy for life, her smile, her positive attitude and of course her love. Carol overflowed with love, for Roy, their children and their four granddaughters. She often shared stories about their activities and she created moments to enjoy each one of them. Carol made each of us feel special and we will miss her always. Carol, you too were loved by so many!
