Barry met Dieter at Molson Brewery in 1965-66. Barry says Dieter was the only one that worked at Molsons that knew everything about the beer business. We had many visits over the years at Dieter and Helga's homes (including the mushroom farm). Our adventures with them included water skiing on Pitt River and a weekend at Harrison.
Dieter and Barry went fishing at Pender Harbour and Harrison Lake. At Pender they won a Molsons fishing derby and always after Dieter called Barry "long leader".
Dieter mastered anything he took an interest in;business, adventures, investments and friend and family purchases. His interests were varied and vast and he did them all well.
His love of family, nature and his heritage were always evident. Dieter was a good friend, he was our friend and we will miss him.

It is with great sadness to learn of Dieters passing.  He was such a wonderful and caring person and will be extremely missed. We will miss seeing him on the lake kayaking and enjoying his famous sangria! Our sincere condolences to you all. Sorry, we weren't able to attend his celebration of life but he is in our hearts. Ich denk an unseren Abschied im Frühjahr hier in Deutschland, als wir auf der Terrasse standen, wir uns in den Arm nahmen und ohne groe Worte wussten dass es das letzte Mal in unserer beider Leben sein wird, dass wir uns umarmen können. 

Ich denk an unser letztes Telefongespräch, wo wir beide ohne groer Worte wussten, dass es wohl das letzte Mal in unserer beider Leben sein wird, dass wir uns hören werden. 
Und trotzdem kann ich es irgendwie noch nicht glauben, dass es so ist, wie es jetzt ist...
Ohne Dich ist Canada für mich nicht mehr Canada...da fehlt doch jetzt was !!!
Mach's gut "Teufelskerl", du fehlst uns !!!

My deepest condolences. Dieter made an enormous contribution to my life and I will be eternally grateful to him. He was such a capable, supportive and positive person. He will be missed, but I was unbelievably lucky to be his friend for 41 years. Unfortunately, I cannot be present today but you will all be in my thoughts.

Patti and I send our most heart felt sympathies.  Dieter was a "Very Special Friend" that we came to know over 20 years ago. He is now at peace and in a better place, having left a legacy of caring, sincerity and love with those he touched.  Although we will not be able to be physically present tomorrow, We send all of our Love and know that we will be with you in Spirit. Love you Helga. xoxoxox
