Edgar was my cousin - the oldest of all 9 of us here in Canada.  We first met him in 1956 when we arrived from Germany, he was cool.  He was a bit of a little punk in those days - hair all combed in a ducktail, just like his hero Elvis Presley.  I heard that throughout the years he was an avid collector of Elvis memorabilia - though in later years he did release a lot of his keepsakes.  He had  a sense of humour and his guffaws were memorable - he would laugh at a situation, throw in a bit of a quip and soon the whole room would be filled with laughter.  His mom, Auntie Trudy, had that same sense of humour and the two could lighted up a room 'quick'.... just a glance at this rough and tumble cousin of mine and all one could do was smile … and share in the laughter.  One thing he did was introduce his little cousins to was a 'yoyo'.  I was 7 or 8, and we were alone in the house and I guess his mom had sent him to us check to make sure we were ok - I think our mom and auntie Trudy were having one of those long lasting coffee and cake afternoons;  all we heard was a drrrr   drrrrr  drrrr on the back door.  We freaked out and finally the door was opened and there he stood - yo yo in hand and his usual side angled smile (I think his trick was walking the dog up the door) --- I think we quickly forgave him for scaring us because who could not just love that smirking face of his.  We loved him for sure.  Rest in peace and join your mom and others up there somewhere - laugh and joke at us at your will.  You will be missed. hugs to you....love cousin Marliss


We were saddened  to hear the sad
 news .We have many fond memories of Ed as he was our neighbour for several years.We spent  several times together and have many wonderful memories of Ed and I can still hear him saying his famous words " It is what it is" The last time Ed came to visit I had made him  breakfast and he was so happy to discuss old times  shared. It is hard to believe he has left.Sending love and sympathy to Eddie during this sad time may all the wonderful memories give you the strength needed to accept the loss of a wonderful man and father.
