When I was a very young child, I knew our family was quite different than others. I had two psychic grandmothers: One who read regular playing cards and one who read tea leaves. As I got a little older, I became more aware of how they each help people with their special gifts. I love them both dearly for giving their time freely to those who were in need of help. When I was eight years my mother in turn shared her insights with me as she also inherited her mother's gift of reading the symbols she saw in the teacups, which formed messages that proved to be a benefit to those who asked her for guidance when they had difficult difficulties in their lives. I really enjoyed reading teacups until I was 12. I discontinued reading tea leaves and focus my on studies more.
After I graduated from high school, my life unfolded, and I became interested in many things. I had a strong passion for learning, so I got involved in areas that I was interested in until I finally realized that I love music so much that I've made that my goal! As the years passed, it was finally time to get involved and learn to play the Hammond organ with objective of teaching it . After playing the organ for a few years I was asked to teach it at Eaton's Department Store in Vancouver which was sponsored by the Hammond Organ Company. That is when I realized my calling was to teach people who were interested in the same things as I had learned. It worked and it also coincidentally took me into where I am now.
"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything" - Plato.
in 1983 a fellow who works with my husband asked if I would teach a 70-year-old mother. He also requested that I teach at their house as his mother was physically disabled but wanted to learn the organ, I agreed to do that and through making that agreement my life started to take a totally unexpected change. Mrs. Mitchell was an excellent student and succeeded in playing not only the organ but also the piano! Her son was the catalyst as to where I am today.
Ken and his mom were spiritualists. I was not familiar with spirituality, so they took me to church with them one day and later explained the principles of their beliefs mainly they too believed in life after death as I did. My grandmother told me she would come to my 6th birthday party in June she kept her word but during early morning on that day she was to come, I was laying on the couch and the front door opened, and it was a beautiful morning and my grandmother appeared in front of the tree, but she was not in her physical body as I could see through her! She was dressed as I'd seen her before and looked beautiful as she smiled at me and disappeared. I never told anybody about this, but soon after she disappeared my mom got the phone call that she died in her sleep I believe she'd been watching over me all these years and is my own personal angel.
"Music is a divine way to tell beautiful poetic things to the heart" - Pablo Casals
Ken told me that I had a special gift that I was not working with. The gift was that one day over a period of time, I would be reading tarot cards in a restaurant. They gave me my first deck of tarot cards and from then on, he started teaching me about tarot and symbolism it is made-up of. He also encouraged me to attend psychic development circles which I did. My most memorable teacher was the minister at the spiritual church in a circle of 13. My next special teacher was Norma Cowie (teacher, writer, manager of the major psychic fairs for years in Vancouver) she was wanting me to gain experience reading for people at her shows which I greatly benefited from From there, I took a correspondence course with James Wanless (writer and creator of the Voyager Tarot as well as numerous books). Many years later I had the privilege of meeting James when he came to Vancouver to do a workshop.
After I started to gain confidence in myself as a tarot reader, I started branching out into reading in a restaurant South Granville called the Normandy. I loved reading for people! Like my mom and my two grandmothers. I to love working with the gift I was given.
'Music is life! That's why our hearts have beats."
I have now been reading tarot for 25 years! During these years I have read for many wonderful people who have given me the opportunity to learn about life through tarot and its wisdom. Ten years ago, I was asked by the Vancouver school board if I would teach tarot at night school for continuing education and I agreed. I have always loved to teach what I have learned but tarot is a very special tool to work with and to teach others and I feel very honored to be able to share what I learned about life through tarot which I believe is " The Picture Book of Life. "'
Other interests I have are:
1)Playing tenor saxophone in a very popular rhythm and Blues/ rock and roll band known as the " Ray Myers Band" based in Vancouver
2)Toastmasters- a worldwide international organization for training people to overcome their fears of public speaking. My club is called Cloverleaf Toastmasters and has helped me to communicate in a more confident manner.
3)I have a strong passion for photography! I love to take pictures.
4) Collecting tarot cards and tarot books that I am drawn to as well as other metaphysical books
To conclude my bio, I am including some of the unexpected events I've been asked to participate in. National touring for conventions and events, radio open line shows, TV interviews and written articles published locally and nationally in magazines and newspapers.
