George was born in England to Wilfred and Ruby Harris. He joined the Royal Navy in 1947 and transferred to the Canadian Navy in 1949 where he served until 1974. He later worked for Abbotsford School District and the Corp of Commissionaires. He retired in 1996 to spend time with his family and travel.
He was predeceased by his parent, his first wife Connie, his sister and brother-in-law (Eleanor and Ed) and his stepson Ron.
He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Paul (Jean), Colin (Kathy), Brian (Karen) as well as 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
George will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
