Helen and my mother, Katie Hamm (died in 1992), were cousins, born almost 2 months apart. Upon arriving in Canada as a war refugee, my mother was warmly welcomed into Helen's family-- the Peters family. I have very fond childhood memories of my parents taking our family on a summer holiday to visit Helen's family. I can still remember Sharon, Dora, Tim and Steve, and would be interested to know where all of you currently live. My heart grieves with you all at the loss of your precious mom. May our loving God comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead. We joyfully look forward to that glorious Reunion Day!

Tim, Dora, and family:

I only met your mom a few times at CHC but each time she was warm and welcoming. One very windy Sunday we made an instant connection during our short conversation while Tim brought the car up. I held the doors open against the strong wind as she came out of CHC and got in the car. She was so appreciative of such a small gesture she made me feel special which just goes to show how lovely a person she was.

My thoughts and prayers continue with you all as you morn her passing until you meet her again on the other side.

Your Mom radiated peace and joy and was an inspiration to those who met her at Holmberg House. It was an honor to bear witness to her very grace filled journey. May the great memories you have of her presence in your lives bring you comfort!
