Kathleen Helen Hay

Kathleen Hay has passed on where she will be joining her husband George Hay and other loved ones in heaven. Her final words were wishing for everyone to be united in prayer that we will see each other again. Leaving behind her daughter Kim Danyliuk; husband John Danyliuk, grandchildren Kaden and Zoey along with her son Daniel Hay; wife Stephanie Hay, grandchildren Stacey, Julie, David, Daniel, Joshua and great grandchildren as well.

You would never go hungry in her home as she enjoyed entertaining company that came over and visited. Always having treats available even if it meant to tell her children to pick up 25 boxes of puff cookies so it will be handy for her to place on the table as a snack for those guests. She truly enjoyed spending her time gardening, shopping and seeing her friends at church.

Couple jobs she is most known for is being a bookkeeper and assisting her husband with the fish farm. Bookkeeping started when she was a young child helping her parents and became a responsibility. The fish farm is a piece of property that she purchased with her husband George and together they developed it into a fish farm called Silverbrook U-Catch where many people in the community have positive memories visiting the farm.

Many thanks to everyone involved with Kathleen’s care from the incredible care provided at Holmberg House, the different units were visited at Abbotsford Hospital including the pharmacy staff, Home Care and all the other professionals that were involved with her. She really appreciated all of you and gives you so many “thank you’s” and there is not enough space to express her appreciation towards all of you. You all made her day with your smiles, help and care. Thank you from her once again if you are taking the time to read this.

Kim and her family will miss her so much as there is so much love and admiration towards her it is difficult to express. Boomer Kim’s dog was in a special place in Kathleen’s heart and would ask for the dog all the time and enjoyed him being present.

A graveside service for Kathleen will be held Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Hazelwood Cemetery, 34070 Hazelwood Ave, Abbotsford, BC V2S 7R1. Following the graveside service will be a service of remembrance at 1:00 PM at Cascades Community Church, 35190 Delair Rd, Abbotsford, British Columbia V3G 2E2.
