Laverne Vern Kenneth Bauer

Laverne (Vern) Bauer of Abbotsford, BC passed away peacefully at home on February 16th, 2015 at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife Judy, 5 children from a beautiful blended family Kelly, Marla, Steve (Joyce), Greg (Tiffany) and Michael (Lili), 8 grandchildren Erik, Alana, Parker, Harrison, Cassia, Keanna, Natasha and Alex, sisters Pauline, Bev, Carol, Sandy and Wendy and brothers Owen and Alex. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy, his son Scott and his grandson David. He was born in Leader, Saskatchewan on March 23, 1937 and later moved to British Columbia where he completed his schooling and began his career in the custom upholstery and mattress making business and was co-owner for many years of Royal City Bedding in New Westminster and Interior Cushion and Mattress in Penticton, BC. Vern will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, his great generosity and his care and concern for his family and friends. The family would like to extend their thanks to the wonderful medical team who supported Vern through his courageous battle with cancer. Special thanks to Dr. Greyling, Dr. Zulfiquar and the medical oncology team at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre for the wonderful care and support they provided.
