Lewis Pierce White, 33, of Lethbridge, Alberta died in an accident along the Moyie River on July 23rd, 2020 while en route to see family in Grand Forks. Lewis was born June 24, 1987 in Kelowna, the son of Jamie Bryant nee Ross and Thomas Bryant. He attended schools in Kelowna and Abbotsford and graduated from Abbotsford Christian School in 2005. Lewis had an abiding interest in the arts and in biology and was at his core an intellectually curious human being who continued to explore many interests throughout his life through his travels, reading and deep thinking. Lewis was comfortable with silence and spent many hours in art museums and galleries and in nature, hiking and doing photography. His level of focus and passion with the arts and the natural world was always one of his great strengths.
Lewis held family in the highest regard, as evidenced by the time he took to be with them whenever possible. He also invested time in close friends who are grieving his loss too. For the past 4+ years he had been employed with Pepsico taking on various specialized roles successfully and his death leaves a hole in that family too. Lewis led a quiet life reading and gaming. His love of fantasy literature and games, both video and board games brought him pleasure and friendship, friends who will also grieve his passing.
Lewis is survived by his mother Jamie of Abbotsford, and his father Thomas of Waltham, MA. He is predeceased by his maternal grandmother Mae Webster, of Grand Forks, his maternal grandfather Lewis Ross of Castlegar, and his paternal grandfather Dr. Lawrence Bryant of Powell River. He leaves behind his paternal grandmother, Margaret Bryant of Powell River, and many aunts, uncles and cousins in the interior and coast of British Columbia as well as central and southern AB.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Henderson’s Fraser Valley Funeral Home located at 34537 Marshall Road in Abbotsford. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 4pm to 5pm. Lewis will be cremated per his wishes and the family wishes to have a private burial.
A memorial will occur, likely in 2021, so that all can be invited to share their memories of Lewis, a thoughtful and caring man.
