It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Louise Marilyn Alexander (née Stone) on April 17th, 2026 at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission, British Columbia. Louise was born July 29, 1947, in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Arthur Stone and Elsie Stone (née Thorpe).
Louise was raised in Mission, where she grew up alongside her younger sister, Judy. She graduated from Mission Secondary School in 1965, carrying with her the values of family, resilience, and kindness that would define her life.
On July 4, 1970, Louise married the love of her life, Lawrence Earl Alexander. Together, they built a life centered on family and raised three sons: Robert (1972), Scott (1974), and Bryon (1977). Louise took great pride in her role as a mother, mother-in-law to Lisa, Cara and Mirela and later as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Louise dedicated 20 years of her life to teaching in Mission, where she touched the lives of countless students and formed lasting friendships with colleagues and the community. As an elementary teacher, she was known for her firm discipline balanced with a warm, humorous approach that left a lasting impression on her students. She was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she built many meaningful friendships and contributed her time and spirit.
She will be lovingly remembered by her six grandsons—Michael (Theresia), Payton, Ryan, Kyle, Tyne, and Bryn—as well as her great-grandson Keylan and great-granddaughters Alyssa and Jaime. She will also be deeply missed by the many friends she made throughout her years in teaching and through her involvement with the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Her legacy lives on through each of them.
Louise will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strength, and the care she showed to those around her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church on Saturday, May 9th at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception at the Abbotsford Rugby Club from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Christine Morrison Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Louise’s memory to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, her favorite charity.
Louise will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
