Mabel Ellen Maria Israelson Nyvall

Her father emigrated from Sweden to Canada in 1910 with his wife, Eva, following in 1912 with their children John, George, Signahild, Lily and Olga. Settling in Metiskow, Alberta there soon followed children Elmer, Helga, Mabel, Ruby, Victoria, Herbert, and Alvin. Mabel’s sister, Victoria, and sisters-in-law, Ellen and Birgit, survive her.

Mabel & husband Oke were married in 1940 and moving west they ended up on Texada Island where they raised their children Bill (Barbara), Jack (deceased), Shirley (Grant), Barbara (Bruce), Ross (Janet) and Michael (Janine).

Blessed with grandchildren Tara, Tyler (Nicole), Tanya (Ryan), Cameron (Selina), Shauna (Lee), Brent (Kimberley), Lindsay, Eric (Mary), and Daryl (Jenessa).

Her special great-grandchildren Jorja, Gwen, Hunter, Brin, Nolan, Carter, Hunter, Michael, Jack, Parker, Kaden, Isaac, Clara, Charlie, Eva, Kiera, Berkley, Eddie and Elizabeth.

Mom passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on December 6, 2015 in Kamloops, BC. She was born in Metiskow, Alberta on May 12, 1918.

Predeceased by her husband Oke, son Jack, and 10 siblings. She will be remembered by her children, Bill (Barbara), Shirley (Grant), Barbara (Bruce), Ross (Janet), and Michael (Janine). Blessed with her love were her grandchildren Tara, Tyler (Nicole), Tanya (Ryan), Cameron (Selina), Shauna (Lee), Brent (Kimberley), Lindsay, Eric (Mary), Daryl (Jenessa).

Mom’s ultimate joy was the births of her 19 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Great-grandma (G.G.) lit up with family pride.

We love you mom. Rest in peace with Dad and Jack.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. Interment to follow at Musselwhite Cemetery.
