I love my brother and I miss him... I look forward to that great and glorious reunion when we I can see his face, hear his laugh, and hug him again.  We keep all of the family in our prayers.

I met Mike when he was a customer at the storage facility I work at.  He was always so much fun when he came in, we would tease him and give him a bad time - so many laughs.  We became closer when I got my Doberman puppy Porscha, and quickly after found her brother that needed a new home - Mike had SO much love for Porscha (he would sit on the floor in the office and love her up) that I knew he would take her brother!  Along came Tucker who would ride in the truck with him and come and visit me :) Soon we had puppy playdates in the RV lot, sharing stories and laughing at the 2 goofy puppies.  I am SO grateful for meeting Mike, I miss him lots and I never can say Where Is Uncle Mike to Porscha without her getting crazy excited anymore as she too, misses him.  Sending so much love to the family, who I also have gotten to meet through work.  Mike was a special man and his loss is felt greatly.

I first met Michael in Kelowna while on a church ministry trip. I was immediately struck with what a great guy he was- strong physically, mentally, and spiritually.  For some unknown reason, he seemed to like me and decided we should hang out. That grew into a brotherhood that’s lasted years because Michael -perhaps unknown to him- became a touchstone in my life from that first day. A touchstone is "a standard or criterion by which something is judged or recognized." It’s a model to measure up to as you assess your condition. It's also a strong and sure example that can provide stability in times of trouble. Michael was a touchstone for me, and I've always drawn strength and assurance from his strength and confidence, but not just as a Christian…he was the bachelor, then husband and father I admired and aspired to be more like. Michael was steeped in great values passed down to him through his parents. Beyond that strong foundation, his experiences - and his oft expressed single-minded stubbornness - gave him an unmistakable focus and discipline in pursuing goals. I saw this firsthand that day we met in Kelowna- it was unmistakable. It was there he told me about a beautiful young teacher he was in love with and would one day marry and raise a family. It was 5 or 6 years later before he and Leah were married, but true to his vision, they have raised four incredible children who will pass that legacy on.  Michael and Leah's strengths - and Michael's gift for single-minded stubbornness - were passed on, so I not only will the kids be OK, they will thrive and strengthen those around them. I love this family, and while I miss my brother Michael, I am at peace knowing he is now in God’s presence... probably giving advice on how to cook BBQ and looking for strong coffee and the most potent hot sauce available in heaven. We will be praying for Leah and the kids to be comforted by the Holy Ghost, and to be at peace. Though gone from this life, Michael remains my touchstone.

Gosh, am so so sorry to have heard of your loss this am.
My daughter Ryanna has such fond memories of Mike when we homeschooled. Always very kind & loving. She mentioned his great sense of humor too. We know we'll see him again, but for now, I know your dear family misses him tremendously. The Lord continue to hold you all close during this very difficult time.
