

Mike was born on April 2, 1959, the twin brother of Shelley (Earl) Lewis brother of Steven (Debbie) Poignant, and cherished son to Lorna Poignant. He was predeceased by his father, David Poignant Uncle Doug and Aunt Marg Bramhall, Uncle Ernie and Aunt Rose Poignant, cousin Rob Bramhall, and great-niece Isabella Olson.
He is lovingly remembered by his cousins Val, Gary, and Diane, nieces and nephews, Crystal (Roy), Willa, and Ferguson, as well as his great-nieces and great-nephews: Wyatt, Chloe, RJ, Neveah, Lucianna and all of his extended family. Mike's memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family.
A celebration of Mike’s life will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Henderson's Funeral Home in Abbotsford and followed by a procession to Hazelwood Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
Mike retired recently after a long career as a truck driver with Van Kam, a role that allowed him to travel, but his true passion lay in music. Before his truck driving career, Mike studied Jazz at Malaspina College in Nanaimo, where he honed a lifelong love for music.
Mike's family, friends, and those who knew him will miss his gentle nature, sense of humour, and the joy he brought to everyone he encountered.
Rest in peace, Mike, you will always be in our hearts.
A memorial service for Michael will be held Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S1M1. Following the memorial service will be a committal service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hazelwood Cemetery, 34070 Hazelwood Ave, Abbotsford, BC V2S 7R1.
