Dr. Michael Allen Angus Weicker M.D.

Dr. Michael Weicker M.D. passed away suddenly and unexpectedly due to natural causes on September 7, 2025. He is survived by his mom, Carol; his stepfather, Ted; his stepbrother, Rick; and his stepsister, Kathryn. He will be especially & lovingly missed forever by his mother Carol whom he called “the queen of his heart”. He will also be sadly missed by his best friend Anthony, his close friends Renee and Geoff, and his many colleagues and acquaintances from over the years in the medical field.

Michael grew up in Mission, British Columbia, attended and graduated from the University of British Columbia and went on to earn his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, N.Y. He completed neurosurgery residencies at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., and at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, in the Bronx, N.Y. He later completed a fellowship in spinal oncology and complex spine at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Michael will be remembered for his dedication to medicine, his perseverance, and his love of cooking, basketball and skiing. He loved debating issues and was very interested in world politics and in particular the politics of Canada and the US which were very important to him.

He was taken from us far too soon and will be forever in our hearts and thoughts.
