Nancy will always be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Neville; her sons Jeffrey and Michael; daughters-in-law Angela (Sokolowski) and Tracy (Francis); and her grandchildren, Hannah, Cameron, Evan and Alicia. She is also survived by her sisters Janice, Diana and Donna.
Nancy was born in Hanover, Ontario in 1948, the oldest daughter of Ted and Dorothy Luft. She married Neville in 1968 and embarked on an adventurous and interesting life, living and/or travelling to dozens of unique countries and regions of the world; including Albania, Holland, Iran, Seychelles, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, Zimbabwe and the South Pacific. She lived in the UK for an extended period before returning to Canada and settling in BC.
Although Nancy loved exploring new places, her true passion in life was her family and the friendships she nurtured throughout her life. Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and genuine interest in people were her trademarks. She lived with integrity, curiosity, and kindness to all, and appreciated the simple things in life.
“Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories”.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the care provided over several months by the professional staff in the Oncology and Palliative Complex Care Units at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held later on this year in May, at a date and location to be determined by the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Nancy to the “Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation”, identifying Abbotsford Hospital. More information is available online at https://www.fvhcf.ca/donate/
