Nellie Brissette

On the evening of September 22, 2023 with her husband Rene by her side. Nellie passed away in her sleep at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. She was 71 years old. Rene and Nellie were married for 51 years.

Nellie was born in Lethbridge, AB to Dutch immigrant parents, John Van Huet and Elizabeth (nee Baart) Van Huet. Nellie was proud of her Dutch heritage and its many traditions.

Nellie is survived by her brother Frank Van Huet of Langley, BC, her sister Helen and brother-in-law Lorne Downton of Chilliwack, BC, sister-in-law Diane and husband John Riley of New Mildord, PA, brother-in-law Richard Brissette of Vancouver, Tom and Luck French of Bellingham, WA and so many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Daughter: Michelle and son in-law Jose Dias, grandsons: Marcus, Michael and Mattaeus, granddaughter Marissa, all of Abbotsford, BC.

Son: Shawn and daughter-in-law Jordana, grandson Liam, granddaughters Makenna and Teagan residing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the last 13 years.

A memorial service will be held, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC.
