Paige Anny Eiko Nagata

7 May , 199918 November , 2018

After a long, and difficult fight for her life, it is with a deep grief and sadness, that we announce the passing of Paige Anny Eiko Nagata, who left our family November 18th, 2018, and now forever lives with the Lord. Our wonderful Paige was a shining, and loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend. She had hopes of finishing her post-secondary education, and then to go forth and create positive change in the world. She believed in family, justice, and in the mission to reach communities globally, sharing the gospel of Jesus.

After having spent a short 19 years with us, she will always be remembered for her love and care, her strength and perseverance, a maturity beyond her years, and keen spirit to learn and explore. She will forever be in the hearts of her mother Marlene, her siblings Brooke, Max, Teresa and Stephan, her niece and nephews Ava, Fabian, Ethan, and all those to come, her boyfriend Trevor, and her friends. We warmly would like to invite anyone who would like to celebrate Paige to attend her Celebration of Life, which will take place at 4:30 PM on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018, at Church in the Valley, 23589 Old Yale Road, Langley BC. To honour Paige and who she was, warmly coloured attire is preferred.

In lieu of flowers, our family asks that you rather make a donation to the MEI Memorial Fund that has been created in Paige’s name and honour. This can be made by going to the following link, pressing “donate now”, and indicating it is for Paige’s Memorial Fund when making a payment.

Dear Marlene,
We have no words for how you as a loving mother must feel, and no words to verbalize our empathy. Losing a child. Nothing seems to be more painful. We pray for you, and wish you God’s comfort! He can help you to live with this loss. He knows how you feel. He is holding out His arms to you and your family. He told us: ‘Seek Me and Live’.

Thank you for the tender loving care and patience you show for our daughter and other people with special needs you teach music. Even more love You have given to your Paige.

My deepest condolences to the Nagata family. I had the incredible honor of being one of Paige's outreach leaders on her last mission trip to Moldova and a part of her YWAM Staff in Belize. Although some people might think 5 months of knowing someone is short, in YWAM deep relationships happen fast and people that start off as strangers become like family. Paige was quickly someone that I loved from the start, her amazing heart, love for Jesus, desire to be all in for the Lord, her perseverance to trust Him EVEN when it made no sense, were just a few things that made loving this sweet girl so easy. I am so thankful that God allowed me to lead her during this season. Paige was one of the most servant hearted and selfless people I've ever met. One of my favorite memories of this incredible woman is this photo i've shared below. The moment she decided to publicly declare her commitment to Lord by water baptism. She didn't plan it or tell me that she decided to do it until moments before, when I look up to see her walking down the dock, fighting tears in her eyes because she just KNEW she had to. The Holy Spirit was leading her to commit in that moment with these people that have seen her grow in her journey with the Lord during those 5 months. She so proudly declared that she loves Jesus and is ready to follow Him the REST of her life. Even though she had such a short time on this earth, the lives she has impacted will be FOREVER changed. She has left such a BEAUTIFUL legacy and I KNOW her Heavenly Father is so proud of her. I love you so much Paige and I cannot wait to give you a crazy big hug when I see you in Heaven. I will miss you dearly. I will always cherish our precious time together sweet girl. Thank you for loving the Lord Your God with all your heart, mind and soul.

I remember her as a child growing up. She was a bright inquisitive child. She gave love to all freely. She had a love of all life, especially animals. We will miss her but I know she is in good hands and will be watching over us all. God has plans for her.

My love to her family and friends. Doug and Cheryl
