God took Susie softly and peacefully to her new home in the early hours of September 9, 2026
She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Frank, her son Stan, her son-in-law John Martens and two brothers, Helmut and John.
Susie was born on January 5, 1930 to Henry and Susie Peters in Gouldtown Saskatchewan, the oldest of six siblings, Erna (Neil), Helmut (Bertha), Jake (Diane), John (Rosella), Con (Leona)
Susie met Frank, fell in love, married and moved to beautiful BC. Raising five children, Janet (Denis), Judy (John), Lorne (Moira), Stan, Susie (Keith). They moved around a bit before settling in Abbotsford on Wilerose Street. She lived there in the same house for 65 years, a constant homestead to their children and grandchildren and their little families. The house was not large, but everyone loved gathering there for family Holidays, backyard BBq’s, Sunday dinners or just a coffee.
She was devoted to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grand. She prayed for each of them by name.
She was a constant support to Dad…dancing, bowling, road trips, and camping…not always her favorite but always going.
Navigating but never steering.
She did not learn to drive but she could tell you exactly how to do it.
She could have a conversation with anyone about anything from pup trailers on a dump truck to the latest politics.
Susie dressed with a fashion sense, always a fine scarf and jewelry, favorite pieces that Dad gave her.
Crossword puzzles were always being solved. Dominoes and Bananas were her games of choice.
She was a catcher for her school baseball team and later enjoyed watching the Major Leagues.
She never curled but she loved watching curling on TV, she knew all the teams and players.
Susie sewed, cooked, canned, and always loved.
She was a light to our family.
“A life well lived leaves behind a beautiful bouquet of memories”
Love you lots.
