It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Giuseppina Ojinma (Cianci) on June 1, 2026, after a courageous four year battle with cancer. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, woman of faith, and a cherished friend to many. Teresa passed away surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Throughout her journey, she demonstrated remarkable strength, resilience, determination, and unwavering faith that inspired all who knew her. Though the battle was difficult, she drew her strength from her Maker and Father in Heaven, who gives us strength in our weakness through His Son, Jesus Christ. In the spirit, she was shown that she had faithfully fought the good fight and that it was time to come home.
Teresa was born on June 2, 1978, in Red Lake, Ontario. She lived a life marked by love, kindness, compassion, and steadfast dedication to her family, friends, and community. Professionally, she devoted herself to helping others as a Kinesiologist, Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and Certified Somatics Teacher. Her faith in God, her wisdom, and her passion for health and wellness touched countless lives. Teresa’s caring nature and her commitment to helping others heal and thrive made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Above all, Teresa cherished her family. She will be remembered for her beauty, generous spirit, warm smile, incredible strength, self sacrifice, and the immense love she shared with those around her. Her ability to bring comfort, encouragement, and hope to others was truly a gift.
Teresa is lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael; her children, Diella and Tobechi; her parents, Lucy and Frank; her brother, Nick (Leanne); her niece and nephew, Isabella and Luca; her aunts Vittoria (Douglas), Grazia (Mitch), Maria (Dale), and Margaret (Kevin); her uncles Vince (Fil), Carmine, and Vito; her in laws Kingsley, Ngozi, Oluchi, Ozioma, Uchechukwu, and Ebere, along with their families; and many other relatives, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives she touched.
Family and friends will forever cherish the memories of Teresa’s love, laughter, faith, wisdom, and guidance. While her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy of compassion, courage, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. We hold fast to the hope she carried—that in the last days, when the trumpet sounds, her Lord will call her from the grave into eternity. (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18) “The one who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews.10:23)
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, Abbotsford, British Columbia. A second funeral service will be held in Red Lake Ontario, her final resting place, in the coming weeks.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, support, and condolences during this difficult time.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
