He was born and raised in Edmonton and was 1 of 5 brothers.
He is survived by his wife Betty of 51 years; 3 children, Michael (Cheryl), Tawnya (Ryan) and Cassandra (Checko); and 7 grandchildren, Alycia (David), Mellisa, Jenna, Alex, Camilla, Daniel and Evan.
Being a recovered alcoholic of 51 years (saved by Grace), he was not ashamed to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. Ray had a heart for the lost and those in need working at Allouette River unit corrections, starting a bible study in the prison, and later at Wagner Hills Farm, where he started the first alcohol recovery program.
His painting and decorating business was always a way to provide for his family. Known for his super culinary breakfast skills, the yearly Christmas turkey, garage sale entrepreneur, he could fix anything, had any tool to lend, and time for coffee with friends. He always encouraged us not to worry, that everything will be "ok".
He loved his family deeply and is intensely missed by all ~ until we meet again.
The family wants to thank Mayfair Home for their thoughtful and loving care given to our Ray (Dad, Papa, Grandpa).
Ray’s Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
~ Thank you for the love and support of family and friends ~
