Tina (nee Thiessen) Krause. She was born September 4, 1919 in Leonidovka (3) in Ignatyevo Colony, Russia. She went to be with her Lord on January 4, 2021, at the age of 101 years and 4 months in Menno Home, Abbotsford, BC.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jacob Krause (2004) and by her parents, Peter (1962) and Katherine Thiessen (1967) and all her siblings; 1 daughter in-law, Linda Krause; 1 son in-law, Dan Larsen; 2 sons Ernest and Danny; and 2 grandsons.
Left to mourn are Art Krause, Lynne (Jerry) Stushnoff, Fred (June) Krause, Esther Larsen, Adina (Harve) Pratt, Verna (Ray) Kollin, Elsie (Walter) Bueckert, Carol (Harvey) Bueckert; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The family thanks the Menno Home for their excellent care.
Tina writes that she immigrated to Canada to Herbert, Saskatchewan on August 12, 1924.
She started school there but did not know any English. Upon confession of her faith she was baptized in Herbert September 1936. She was able to attend a year of Bible School winter of 1936-1937. In May of 1937 her family bought a farm in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. Soon after this she took the train to Vancouver, British Columbia to meet her sister Nettie who was working there. She worked in a home there until she and her sister Nettie returned to Foam Lake, Saskatchewan and Nettie got married to Jake Krause. She stayed around and worked there, went to Bible School in Abbotsford for one winter and in fall of 1947 she went to Vancouver to start the work the Lord had for her. She worked at the Girls Home April 1, 1948 until January 6, 1951. Her sister Nettie died suddenly in 1950 and on March 8, 1951 she married widower Jake Krause and moved to Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. There she took on the care of 3 small children and also had 7 children of her own living on the farm.
On retirement, August 1979, she and Jake returned to Clearbrook, British Columbia, where she lived until her death.
