Torhild Sørli Reimer was born on January 20, 1946, in Norway and passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Abbotsford, BC, at the age of 80. As a young girl she spent her early years in Northern Norway before immigrating with her family to Canada, a journey that shaped both her character and her deep appreciation for home and community.
She was a devoted parent, sibling, and daughter, and a cherished member of the Abbotsford community. In particular, the McMillan neighbourhood will remember Tory and her dog Buddy walking the streets, greeting neighbours and friends with her warm smile and friendly conversations. Her quiet constancy, kindness, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Tory is survived by her son Dustin. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Michelle, as well as her mother Laura and her father Gunnar. The family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited with those who went before her, and in the many memories she leaves in the hearts of family and friends.
A service will be held at Henderson’s Fraser Valley Funeral Home in East Abbotsford on April 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. All who knew and loved Tory are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Teen Challenge, a faith-based charity helping people overcome drug and alcohol addiction—a cause very close to Tory’s heart..
