In honor of dearest Mrs. Clark/Collins
My sister and I were 6 and 10 years old when we first met her as our lives were starting off in Canada and couldn't speak a word of English. She greeted us with the BIGGEST Canadian heart and became our Personal ESL Instructor. She taught us with kindness, and sometimes toughness, but she never left us with unsatisfactory...probably because she treated us with snacks and out-of-campus trips! I remember the "lessons" in the school kitchen baking cookies. But these extra "lessons" taught us culture, manners and how to be Canadians :)  I could not imagine how our lives would have been without her. We wouldn't have become bilinguals, graduated and finish university studies abroad if it wasn't for her. We are forever grateful to have had valuable and close time with her, and thankful she welcomed us like her own family. We have missed her as we have been settling in Japan, but our warm and full-of-love memories with her have never worn off through all these years. Until we see each other again, at your new home above, Mrs. Clark/Collins...

In loving memory of Mrs. Clark/Collins

I was in Grade 1 when my family moved to Canada and Mrs. Clark/Collins was our personal English teacher. My sister and I arrived not knowing any English and she not only taught us the language but also supported us as we began our lives in Canada.

Because of her we learned to speak English fluently. She gave us the foundation we needed to experience life in Canada and grow up with a more global and open minded view of the world.

I remember her as one of the most loving, kind and warm people I have ever known and I have so many beautiful memories of her. Every one of them is filled with love. She would take us on little trips in her car, listen to our requests, spoil us, make us laugh with her little jokes and always make things fun and make us feel special. She gave the best, warmest hugs. To me and my sister she was like our Canadian grandma.

I’m so glad I had the chance to visit her 10 years ago as an adult. She hadn’t seen me since I was a child and with the help of Brenda, I was able to surprise her. I will never forget the look of complete surprise on her face and that big beautiful smile when she realized it was me. It is one of those memories that will stay with me forever.

So much of our life in Canada reflects the love and kindness she gave us. She was such an important part of our childhood and our experience growing up in Canada. She will always remain in our hearts as our very favourite teacher, Mrs. Clark/Collins!

My deepest condolences to her family and to everyone who loved her. What a beautiful life she lived, surrounded by so many people who loved her dearly.

Thank you, Mrs. Clark/Collins for being such a special part of our lives. I feel so lucky to have been one of your students. You will always have a very special place in our hearts and I will always remember you with so much love.

Your mom was a very nice lady. Got to know her through your family and remember when she used to come to tabor to visit and be there with  her husband Harold. Then I would run into her every once in awhile when she lived at Tabor Manor.
