William (Bill) Arthur Hellyer, born in Kelso, Saskatchewan, William (Bill) Arthur Hellyer passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 19, 2012. He was predeceased by his father William, mother Dorothy and brother Norman. Bill will be missed dearly by his wife of 37 years Henrietta (Etta), his children, William (Cathy) and Janet (Dan), his stepchildren, Rod (Lynn), Cathleen (Bill), Darryl, David (Val), Andrea (Mike) and Angela, his 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Long-time Abbotsford resident, Bill loved his summers at Canim Lake and winters in Mexico. Bill served 31 years with the Correctional Service of Canada ending his career as the Director of staff training for Western Canada. A memorial service will be held on March 27, 2012 at the Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Road, Abbotsford at 2 pm.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff on Cheam 3 medical at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or MCC Society would be greatly appreciated.
