Angel Martinez, 23, of Abilene, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012, in Dallas Methodist Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2012, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, Abilene, with Pastor Paul Matta. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory Street, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Angel was born June 19, 1989 in Austin, Texas to Paul and Gail Martinez. She grew up in Abilene, Texas and attended and graduated from Abilene High School. Through Angel’s life here on earth, all obstacles put forth for her, she beat with a smile and laughter in her heart. Angel is and always will be an inspiration to all who met and got to share in her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gail Martinez, and her maternal grandparents.

Survivors include her dad, Paul Martinez and T.J. Ponsetti, both of Abilene; grandfather, Paul C. Martinez, Sr.; grandmother, Felipa Martinez; aunts and uncles, Becky and Al Windham, Curtis and Cyndi Mahall, all of Arlington, Texas, Debbie and Pat McCoy of Houston, Texas, and Richard and Sylvia Martinez and family of Abilene, Texas; and several cousins.
