Chris Long

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Highway 277 South, with George Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Gap Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Chris was born January 31, 1942 to Mamie (Eaton) and Elbert O. Long in Tarsny, Missouri. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Chris married Georgia Jamison. He was employed by Bearing Supply Company, retiring after 35 years. Chris was a wonderful loving husband and father who will be greatly missed. He was a member of Elmwood West Methodist Church.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Long.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Long of Abilene; two sons, Frank Campbell and wife, Agnes, and John Campbell, all of Abilene; three daughters, Barbara Digby and husband, Larry, and Dana Robertson and husband, Brooks, all of Odessa, Texas, and Janet Shurbet of Jacksonville, Florida; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
