

David Frank Wolaver, 54, of Abilene passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 19, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest. Father Eric Mancil will officiate.
Dave was born May 7, 1962 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Joseph Alban Wolaver, Jr. and Kathleen D. Davies Wolaver. He attended school in Abilene and enjoyed parties and dining out. Dave loved going to church and singing hymns. He was a member of Hamby Church of Christ and The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest. Those that knew Dave will attest that he was assertive, but also fun loving. He loved giving and receiving hugs. David was known for loving life, and his family thoroughly enjoyed the happiness that Dave brought to their lives.
Preceding Dave in death was his father, Joseph Alban Wolaver, Jr.; and a nephew, Joshua Michael Wolaver. He is survived by numerous family members, including his loving mother, Kathleen D. Wolaver; brother, Mike Wolaver and his wife, Terri; sister, Blanche Wolaver Bounds and her husband, David; niece, Caroline Wolaver Stevenson; nephew, Paul Joseph Bounds; aunt, Blanche Jerige; cousins, Aubrey Irwin and his wife, Diane, Kathleen Kiefer, Andrew Jerige and his wife, Barbara, and Kimberly Jerige; as well as numerous family members in Pennsylvania and the United Kingdom.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Teresa Rahn, Ricky Watkins, Dr. Charles Fuller, and the Integracare nurses.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest or a charity of your choice.
