

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2011, at Elmcrest Baptist Church with Reverend Burtis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Texas State Veterans Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Donald was born November 12, 1933 to Willie May and Claude White in Coleman, Texas. He graduated from Coleman High School. Donald served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years, obtaining the rank of MSgt., and was stationed in Vietnam and Korea. He moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Abilene 37 years ago. Donald married Boknam "Kim" White. After retiring from the Marine Corps, he graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and History, making the Dean's List and ranking 8th in his Class. Donald worked for 7 years at Abilene Memorial Company and volunteered for 14 years at Dyess Base Hospital. He loved outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing, and camping. Donald was a member of Elmcrest Baptist Church in Abilene.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lyle, Fred, Winchy, Leo, and Ted White; and a sister, Claudia Blice.
Survivors include his wife, Boknam "Kim" White of Abilene; a brother, Roy White and wife, Shirley, of Arlington, Texas; a sister, Jimmy Wooten of Odessa, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
