Edwina Ann "Winnie" Byers, 33, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, in Ft. Worth. Funeral services will be 11:00a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Minda Street Church of Christ with Dr. Tony Roach officiating. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 to 8p.m. at the funeral home.
Edwina was born on December 4, 1978 to James R. & Jo Ann Byers at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, TX. She moved at an early age in 1984 to Abilene where she attended schools at Lawn Elementary School, Clack Middle School and then on to Cooper High School where she graduated in 1997. Edwina and her family lived in Lubbock, Lorenzo, New Home, and Abilene, and she had also lived in Odessa and recently moved to Fort Worth.
Edwina was baptized into her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 29, 1996 at 8:15p.m. at Minda Street Church of Christ. She had many accomplishments in her life. Edwina loved to sing and write poetry in her spare time.
Preceding her in death were her maternal grandparents, Howard and Bertha Mae Gibbs and her paternal grandparents, Joe Willie and Bessie Mae Byers.
Edwina Ann "Winnie" Byers leaves to cherish her memories; her parents, James R. Byers and Jo Ann Byers of Abilene; two sisters, Erica Johnson of Odessa and Erin Jamiel Byers of Fort Worth; two nieces, Dalawnia Ann Johnson of Denton and Ayjolan Dahlaye Hall of Fort Worth; two nephews, Eric Johnson and Kobe Robinson both of Odessa; as well as lots of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
