Eugene Gonzales

Eugene Gonzales, 43, died Monday, November 9, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Father Robert Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery, Haskell, TX, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Prayer service is 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.Eugene was born February 28, 1966 in Haskell, the son of Geronimo and Genara (Abila) Gonzales. He moved to Abilene in 1985 and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he also worked. Eugene enjoyed fishing and gardening and he loved his family very much. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.He was preceded in death by his father, Geronimo Gonzales; son, Eugene Gonzales Jr.; and step-son, Sgt. Christopher Loza. He is survived by his wife, Amelia Gonzales of Abilene; mother, Genara Gonzales of Haskell; brother, Ramon Gonzales of Haskell; sister, Janie and husband, Santos Rodriguez of Abilene; two grandchildren, lliana Loza and Aubriella Loza; step-daughter, Erica Loza of Abilene; and the wife of the late Sgt. Christopher Loza, Kristena Loza of San Angelo; two nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces, three great-nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Building Fund, 837 Jeanette St., Abilene, TX 79602.
